I hate opening mail. I think it’s because it’s mostly junk, but the junk from two weeks ago, that I had tucked into a bag, turned out to be a check. It left me with a little life lesson.
There are things in life we know we should not fool with, and there are things in life we just don’t want to deal with. It may be because we feel it’s not our responsibility, we’re lazy, we feel discouraged, or we figure someone else will deal with it.
However, the very things we don’t want to deal with can hold the greatest value in life. Mine just happened to be a check. Yours could be touching a life, influencing someone to do something great with their life, or even saving a life with a kind word.
So unless you see that blaring spiritual/mental stop sign, take a chance and open up. Add some value to someone’s life. It just might be your own.
