Shelter in Place, by Carol Baldwin

Majestic Lord,

Ruler of the Universe,

Help me to find

shelter in You this day.

You are my rock,

my hiding place.

a high tower to whom I can run.

Always.

Underneath the cover of your almighty wings,

Let me know your protection.

Love.

Mercy.

and comfort.

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Scripture References:

Psalm 27:4-5

One thing I have desired of the LordThat will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

********

Psalm 61: 1-4

Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.
From the end of the earth, I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

Note from the Reformation Heritage  KJV version:

“Tabernacle” refers to God’s tent, not the sacred tabernacle into which only priests could enter, but a symbol of dwelling in fellowship with God, claiming Him as his Host to protect and provide for him. “Covert” means shelter.

  1. These are such uplifting verses, Carol — all with sheltering in mind. ☺️ My life’s verse is Psalm 27:4, but I never thought to add verse 5. I think I will use that in my next blogpost!
