About BEDTIME WITH MOMMY

BEDTIME WITH MOMMY is a fun twist on bedtime routines. Animals around the world portray what children and their mommies do and say at bedtime.

Polar bears in the Artic read a bedtime story and say a bedtime prayer. Panda bears share a bedtime snack in the forest before reading a peaceful Psalm.

The lyrical text includes cuddling with favorite blankets and toys, goodnight kisses, and bedtime prayers. Children will smile as they imagine young animals putting away their toys, brushing their teeth, and jumping into their jammies!

The perfect ending shows a human mommy tucking her little one into bed. Nestled beside the child are two stuffed animals. Mommy and her child sing a favorite hymn together and end with activities similar to those of the animals—a hug, a kiss, a snuggle, and a prayer.

The Illustrations

Felia Hanakata did an amazing job illustrating this precious book. The soft colors she used in pictures of mommy animals holding and caring for their young ones are sure to warm the hearts of children.

Hanakata’s details of eight different animals from around the world are delightful. Their expressions convey the same sense of love and safety as those in the last scene with the mother and her child.

My Recommendation

I highly recommend BEDTIME WITH MOMMY for children ages six and under. It’s an enjoyable and soothing bedtime book. While entertaining, it is also a thoughtful book, full of thankful prayers to God for His love, His protection, and for giving us loving mommies.

Reading BEDTIME WITH MOMMY is a wonderful way for little ones to end the day.

  1. I have bought 2 copies of Bedtime with Mommy–for 2 Mommies-to-be! I love it’s rhyming text that points children to God and the colorful illustrations of animal mommies and their babies! I know it will become a favorite bedtime story! Merry Christmas, Sally and Nancy.

    1. Kathy, what a wonderful gift to give expectant mommies. Sorry for my delayed response. Our “Christmas morning” with all of our kids home took place Dec. 23 and it’s been a whirlwind since. 🙂 I hope you had a merry Christmas as well.
