Resuming the journey: Writers meet, learn, and leave to share their stories

Three days after #Write2Ignite2018 Conference, Pilgrim continues, resuming his journey toward the Celestial City, while W2I conference participants return to their homes, nourished with new insights, methods, and connections.

FEEDBACK: The Write2Ignite Team is reviewing workshop, keynote, and conference evaluation forms received from those who attended. If you did not turn in forms, or if you have further feedback to offer, please submit comments or watch for future posts inviting comments, questions, or guest posts about specific conference elements.

NEW FEATURES at #Write2Ignite2018 included online editor/agent/presenter appointment signups, a photo “booth”, a Book Signing, a wandering Pilgrim/Christian enactor, a W2I kids’ devotional, and a publisher-sponsored writing and anthology contest. Please share about your favorites!

CHALLENGES: Losing our main tech support guy, Dylan, to a job out of state left a big gap to fill in the areas of projector connections, session recordings, and general tech assistance. With help from Team member April Williams, we worked through most “help” calls, but rest assured, we will making securing tech-savvy staff a key priority for Write2Ignite 2019!

Both Conference Critiques and participant conferences with editors, agents, and presenters were at an all-time high! We’ll be looking at ways to open even more time in future conference schedules to maximize these one-on-one (and possibly, small group) connections which allow individual writers to speak directly with one or more chosen professionals, to get input on specific writing projects, concepts, or marketing and publishing options.

How did #Write2Ignite2018 contribute to your writing journey?  What are major takeaways for you, resuming your writing projects and pursuing publication and marketing pathways? We hope you will share these with us in the coming months, reporting ways that information, challenges, connections, and critiques received at W2I Conference are impacting your writing progress and success.
