New Master Class On The Horizon
On Saturday, April 22, 2023, Write2Ignite is offering new virtual Master Class Hooks, Queries and Proposals: Angling to Land a Contract with Master Teacher Kim Peterson.
Write2Ignite adds Kim Peterson to our list of Master Teachers.
Kim Peterson mentors aspiring writers. She has taught writing for 29 years, working extensively with published authors and those seeking careers in writing, editing and publishing. Last fall, she began her 16th year teaching in the online professional writing program of Taylor University (Upland, Indiana). Kim is also a freelance editor. Plus, she copyedits and proofreads for WhiteFire Publishing. Kim is truly an expert in writing for publication. Her knowledge and experience will help us all with those pesky foundational documents like queries and proposals. She’ll also teach us how to bait our hooks to snag publishers.

I can tell you from personal experience that mastering these three “hidden” parts of writing is pivotal to writing a manuscript that sells. I strongly believe that a writer who cannot condense their story down to a few lines in these documents does not have a manuscript ready to submit to publishers yet. These are the building blocks for the foundation of a well-written story.
Hooks, queries, and proposals may not be the fanciest lures in your tackle box, but you can’t catch a publisher’s eye without them.
I am totally convinced that following Kim’s advice and honing these three documents will help every writer to improve their story.
Three Master Class Sessions In One Day
- Kim’s first workshop will be on writing HOOKS that will grab the attention of publishers.
- The second workshop will show you how to craft QUERIES that will help you land both writing assignments and publishing contracts.
- Kim’s third workshop will help you create that daunting PROPOSAL everyone dreads. It seems like such a big job, but Kim can help you cruise through it.
We will, again, have breakout sessions between the classes so participants can help each other put Kim’s suggestions to work for their own manuscripts. And Zoom means that Christians who write for children and young adults can participate no matter where they live.
