Barbara Seregi’s Armor of God Series includes three titles with more to come. The stories revolve around Oliver, his little sister Hazel, and their friends. Each story illustrates one element of the armor of God explained in Ephesians 6: 10 – 18.
The first book that sparked the series, Hazel’s Cookie illustrates the belt of truth of the Armor of God. Oliver learns that truthfulness is always right.
Book 2, Oliver’s Battle illustrates the breastplate of righteousness of the Armor of God. Oliver learns to stop and think before he acts. Doing what is right needs to be thoughtful.
Book 3, Tommy and the Good News Shoes, illustrates the shoes of the Armor of God. Hazel’s friend, Tommy, learns that the good news of God’s protection brings peace.
Seregi’s three illustrated books would make great additions to Sunday school materials or homeschool materials. They teach Scriptural truths through the mishaps and adventures of the children Oliver and Hazel, and their friends. Helpful adults (like Mom and a Sunday school teacher) use the events of each story to teach the children these Scriptural truths.
The series will make a lovely addition to any home library. Parents will find them easy to read aloud to their children, and easy to apply to day-to-day situations in their own families.
