Fingerprint Devotions: 40 Devotions To Help You Realize You Are a Kid Uniquely Created by God for a Purpose by Sandra Kay Chambers is a devotional to help kids understand the importance of their connection with God. With a fun lesson each day, there’s so much to learn. Each chapter offers a different lesson with emphasis on honoring God’s principles.
This book was written for people who want to start or strengthen their connection with God. Designed for ages 8-12, this book offers life lessons with supporting Bible verses throughout the devotional.

Review
Show God’s Goodness is a great chapter. It teaches us why Jesus helps us to be good. The Bible states no one is good except for God, which is why we need Jesus’ help to follow God’s principles. This chapter references verses from the Bible such as Mark 10:18, which shares a story of Jesus instructing the rich man to sell everything he has. In order to help us better understand God’s goodness and his plan for us, we must trust and believe in his guidance.
Another one of my favorite devotions is Live in Peace. It instructs us to exemplify peace even though we may be hurt or angry. The Bible states that peace comes when we trust and believe in God’s love and declarations. Reading this chapter reminded me that when we follow God, he helps us work through our disputes calmly and peacefully. The author believes that God will bring us peace in everything when we trust and believe in his love. Live in Peace shares a very meaningful retelling of the story of Genesis 37-50.
Be Gentle, another devotion, offers a realistic example of how unkind words can affect others, and even after an apology, it still hurts. This book teaches us to think before we speak. We are taught how to deal with emotions calmly and positively, especially the strong emotions that everyone struggles with like sadness, anger, fear, anxiety, embarrassment, envy and disgust. Be Gentle reminded me of the characters in the movie Inside Out 2, where a character named Riley copes with different emotions, similar to the ones in this devotional. In Inside Out 2, my favorite emotion that Riley struggles with is Disgust because of her sassiness and comical characteristics.

Overview
From the author: "Each devotional includes a scripture, a fun fingerprint fact, a short devotion, a journal question or activity and a prayer. Each of the four sections focuses on how God’s fingerprint is on us by creation, by salvation by asking Jesus into our hearts, through the Holy Spirit living in us, and how we show God’s fingerprint to others by the way we live and use our talents and gifts."
