THE SYNOPSIS
Remmy Raccoon is excited because the fair is in town—and that means carnival food! He is very hungry. He dumpster dives to find his favorite munchables, but don’t worry, he always washes them before eating. When he finds a pink, fluffy confectionary treat, it quickly disappears before he can eat it! He goes back for more candy clouds, but it’s no use. Each one disappears! Remmy accuses his friends of nabbing his snack, so when he learns the truth about his puffy delight’s aversion to water washing, he must ask for forgiveness and restore his friendships because friends are the most important treat of all.
THEMES
Remmy’s Sticky Situation is an adventure in friendship that reminds us of how to be a good friend. Filled with friends, forgiveness, reconciliation, and hope, this sweet story will show us how to ask for forgiveness when we’ve made a mistake and presents options for responding to forgiveness if someone wrongs us. The letter from Remmy at the end is a special note that readers won’t want to miss.

FAVORITE MOMENTS
It’s tricky to pick a favorite moment in the story because each page moves us to a deeper connection to Remmy and his situation, but I truly love the innocence of Remmy’s mistake and how young readers can infer what is happening through the illustrations. The illustrations are a delight! I also love the ending when Remmy chooses to go to his friends. You’ll enjoy what he brings with him.
OVERALL
This story shares a universal and timely message without being preachy. Kids will love the silliness of Remmy’s raccoon behavior, while also hearing how to reconnect with others when they’ve messed up. Remmy’s Sticky Situation combines heart and humor in all the best ways!
COMING TOMORROW!

Sounds adorable!
I agree! Your name starts the giveaway list.
I love this plot so much! It’s super important to teach kids as early as possible, and admitting you’re wrong and asking for forgiveness is probably one of the best lessons we can teach them.
I’d totally take this book to Storytime at the library!
Cindy Sawyer’s created another winner! The adorable illustrations, the catchy text, and the endearing truth will win over all the littles I know. Plus, the backmatter is filled with amazing things to keep kids talking and learning. We’d love to pass this copy along to our church library – after we’ve soaked it in a few dozen times!
What a sweet story, Cindy! Thank you for reviewing it, Marci.
I love the lesson of apologizing & forgiveness! 🩷
