Statement of Faith
Write2Ignite provides education, inspiration, and encouragement to Christians who write for children and young adults.
We do this by offering services and resources to create a positive network
consisting of both new and seasoned Christian authors, illustrators, and speakers.
We believe in the Bible
We believe that the Bible (composed of the canonical 66 books of the Old and New Testament) is the only inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:15-17). We believe that the Bible is God’s revelation to humanity, showing the way of salvation and providing the only rule of life for Christians (Romans 1:16).
We believe in the saving work of Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14), His sinless life (2Corinthians 5:21), and His miracles (John 20:30-31). We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the only basis for forgiveness of sins and eternal salvation (John 5:24), which is the free, unmerited gift of God’s grace (Romans 3:23-24, Romans 5:8-9). We believe in His bodily resurrection (Mark 16:6), His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19), and His imminent return in power and glory to bring God’s eternal plan to completion (John 14:3, Acts 1:11 Philippians 2:5-8).
We believe in one true God
We believe in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:18-20, John 14:6). The Father sent the Son, who came as the willing sacrifice for all sin (1 John 4:9-14, Matthew 26:39). The Holy Spirit indwells Christians and enables them to live godly lives (John 16:12-14).
We believe in salvation by faith alone
We believe that everyone who receives the Lord Jesus Christ by faith in Him alone (Romans 10:9) is born again of the Holy Spirit (John 1:12-13) and in this way become a child of God committed to living a godly life as described in Scripture (John 14:15, Ephesians 2:2-10). We believe in the resurrection of the dead: those who are saved receive eternal life, and those who are not receive eternal separation from God (John 3:16-21).
Statement of Values
We believe in the value of human life as the Bible teaches that human beings are created by God and in the image of God (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:14-15). We value and defend human life in all its stages from the moment of conception through natural death including every physical or mental challenge or condition.
We believe that, as stated in the Bible, God created two genders: male and female (Genesis 1:27). We believe that the Bible is the final source for the definition of marriage between a man and a woman in a single and exclusive union (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that sexual immorality in any form is a sin (Romans 1:24-27; 1 Cor 6:9, 13-20).
Agreement
We require that everyone in a leadership position or volunteer role with Write2Ignite agree to and live according to biblical values as stated on this page.
Both member and non-member participants are under no such obligations, but are asked to respectfully recognize the position of Write2Ignite.
