Master Classes
W2I Master Class is a one-day, live online event with three workshops focused on one aspect of writing for children and young adults. Of course, those who write adult fiction are welcome, too. So, invite all the writers you know! Sign up for our Newsletter to stay informed.
.
Master Classes are taught by master authors and teachers, and are designed to help writers who want to become masters at writing for children and young adults. Meet our former teachers here. We include lots of hands-on time for practicing your new and improved skills, complete with immediate feedback.
Our focus for W2I Master Classes is honing our WRITING SKILLS
Writing across genres
Nonfiction, children’s periodicals, devotions and Sunday school curriculum, anthologies, young children (picture books, board books, early chapter books), middle graders and young adults, humor, fantasy, and mysteries.
Creating characters
Strong stories begin with believable characters. In this focus area, writers learn how to develop characters with clear motivations, strengths, and struggles that resonate with young readers. You’ll practice creating characters who feel authentic, make meaningful choices, and support the heart of your story.
Plotting
Plot gives your story shape and forward momentum. These sessions focus on story structure, pacing, and tension, helping writers build plots that keep readers engaged from beginning to end. You’ll gain practical tools to organize your ideas and move your story forward with confidence.
We would love to hear your ideas for future W2I Master Classes. Just email us at info@write2igniteconference.com
