It is important to take reading to the next level and beyond.
This is where we need to step up the reading challenge a bit.
Being a great writer means READING ALOUD.
When we read aloud we engage more fully with the message of the author because reading aloud forces us to use the intonation the author intended. We become joined with the author to get the message from the print word to the reader, and in this case, the listener.
Being a great children's author means reading ALOUD to KIDS and TEENS.
As we read aloud to young readers/listeners, we see their reactions to writing styles, word choice, and ideas. We learn how to better engage with them through the words we write as well.
Where might you read aloud to a young audience on your journey to Write2Ignite?
