J.J. Fischer specializes in fantastic Christian fantasy, and her newest book, Christmas on The Goblin Express, might her most fun read yet. This cozy Christmas romantasy is the perfect book to kick off the holiday season.

A Summary of the Story:

To escape Christmas, Claire climbs aboard a magical train full of elves, trolls, and fairies (all seeking to avoid their own festive holidays). Little does she know that the train holds stronger magic than it seems, and a dangerous foe would do anything to steal it.

Soon Claire is banding together with her fellow passengers to rescue the train and its riders before it's too late. Can she and her newfound friends find a way to save the holiday they tried so hard to avoid?

About Christmas on The Goblin Express

J.J. Fischer delivers a delightful package of colorful characters, intriguing worldbuilding, and true to life themes.

While the story is full of humor, fun, and a strong dash of romance, Christmas on The Goblin Express also tackles topics of grief and loneliness, which often become sharper during the holidays. The main character is a young woman balancing med school, a family illness, and a search for her purpose. Though the book is geared toward adults, Claire’s struggle with the pressures and expectations she puts on herself is a concern many teens can also relate to. Young adults will be drawn in by Claire’s strong personality and charm. By the end of her journey, Claire rediscovers a sense of joy and confidence that can’t help but make the reader smile as well.

My only complaint about the story was that there were more book and movie references than I would have liked, as I found them a bit distracting after the first few. However, the stories Claire speaks of are all wonderful, and she's such a great character that I didn't mind the references in the end.

Overall, Christmas on the Goblin Express is the perfect holiday read for anyone who enjoys clean, colorful fantasy.

This sounds quite clever. My 13 year-old granddaughter might like it. Have to order one. Jean
