Book Review of Outside ABCs Written by Janice D. Green

by Jean Matthew Hall | Jun 22, 2026 | Book Review | 19 comments

In Janice Green’s new picture book, Outside ABCsmore than twenty-six birds, butterflies, and woodland creatures dance across the pages. Green’s rhyming text tells us a tidbit or two about each creature she features. Each page reminds young readers that God is the One who created the featured animals.

Children will also enjoy searching for other animals that begin with the alphabet letters along with Seymore the Look Again Owl. Backmatter includes a list of the hidden animals and information about extinct animals.

Outside ABCs will be a great addition to your read-together library. It can open the discussions about Creation and God as our Creator. It can also lead children to investigating the various creatures on a deeper level.

You can purchase Outside ABCs at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Ambassador International.com.
