Consider the Night Sky Book Review

Consider the Night Sky

Written by Jennifer Grant and illustrated by Julianna Swaney, Consider the Night Sky is a delightful picture book. Filled with bold blues, oranges, and yellows, the illustrations give the book a folk-art look. This book for 3-7-year-olds, turns the readers eyes toward God as they consider his magnificent handiwork. This is the third in the Consider series by Eerdmans Publishing Company.

Introduction to Astronomy

This introduction to astronomy invites the reader to explore God’s night sky with its moon, stars, constellations, planets, and universe. My favorite part of the book is the depiction of the constellations. This illustration could be used as a guide for searching the night sky. It could help locate the awe-inspiring constellations on many a starry night.

Not only is Consider the Night Sky a perfect book for children who have an interest in astronomy, it is also a perfect book to help spark that initial interest, with the reminder that God made it all.

God Knows Your Name Too

At the end of the book, readers are reminded that just as God knows the names of the sun, moon, stars, and planets, he knows the child’s name as well.

If you have a young child in your life you would like to share a book about Creator God’s amazing night sky, then Consider the Night Sky is a wonderful book to choose.
